Vriesea
The best known Vrieseas have a high leaf sheath from which “flowers” grow with marked green leaves. Vrieseas with a compact shape and a branched “flower” are being seen more frequently as well. |
Guzmania
There are Guzmanias with purple, red, white, bright pink, yellow or bi-coloured flowers and there are Guzmanias with branched flowers in addition to the large-flowered varieties. The Guzmania is native to the north-west of South America and the Caribbean. |
